A surreal animated music video for the track "Like a Duck", by MC Honky.

It started as just something to mess around with, adding in all sorts of drawings and mixing them up using frame by frame animation and playing with interactions between the images and music. Then it just got bigger and bigger, and now this finished version runs for 4 minutes and 21 seconds.

Please leave me a review letting me know what you think, to me feedback is what this site is all about. I respond to any and all reviews.

I hope you enjoy it!

*edit* I've been told that the sync is out on some peoples computers, and I've had the problem too. It seems to work perfectly on a PC but on a mac the music gradually gets ahead of the animation. If you get to the end and use the scene selection buttons to go straight to one of the later scenes, you'll see that things are much closer in sync. I think it might have something to do with the animation being on 24 fps and the sound running at a different rate, possibly 25fps? If anyone knows a solution, please let me know.

*new edit* I've changed the publishing preferences to increase the quality of the sound, and now the sync is much better. Not flawless but much better. The only catch is that now the file is huge!

Great!

The animation was really good in this flash. The graphics where good too, and the sound effects fitted perfect in the flash. Keep it up, and never stop making flash! :]

I have to stop making flash sometimes, you know, to eat and sleep, but with a laptop at least I don't have to stop to poop...

Nce job

Nice flash animation. In the end, the music and the video weren't synchronized, but 8/10 for the rest.

TheBoogley responds:

Thanks for the vote and for letting me know about the problem, I still don't know how to fix it, on some machines it works perfectly but not on others... crazy?

Cool :)

There was a similar flash by greasymoose, I think. It was even called 'duck' or something, as far as I remember. And it featured the same way of animation.

That's just by the way, because I really liked your work. It shows the benefits of human imagination combined with the appropriate techniques to show present the result of this imaginative power to a larger audience.

5/5

TheBoogley responds:

Good old greasymoose, there's always room for more ducks! You sir have a thorough grasp of the english language and are not afraid to use it. Most articulate review EVER!

Really good

Please don't let the score fool, i thought this was excellent. There was bucketloads of creativity in there which is sorely lacking here on Newgrounds. The animation was cool and fluid and looked really imaginative.
Critical feedback - my only criticism was the sound was out of sync with the video. Normally that doesn't matter too much except this was a music video so it's kind've crucial! I'm not sure whether that's a problem with my computer or an error in the animation itself but it's definitely worth checking.
Anyway really nice piece of animation, keep it up!

TheBoogley responds:

Sync, sync, sync, always with the sync. If you watch it on another machine it might be fine. I'm not sure what wrecks it, but I think that the sound runs at a fast rate, and gradually gets ahead. I think I need to figure out the frame rate of the sound and get the images to match it, then it'll work fine... maybe. I think digital video runs at 25fps, true?
