If the songs seem off beat, try lowering the quality so it runs smoother.

Update: Thanks for the front page Newgrounds! I've been reading some reviews and i'm getting some ideas from everyone to put in the next installment.

By popular demand, Virtual Keyboard V. 2.0 is here! This update features:

61 Keys with 5 instrument
6 demos and lessons from your favorite SNES games
Brand new interface
Unique scrolling and zooming keyboard

I know the timing is off for some of these songs. Flash isn't really optimized for making music on it, so I had to do what I could. This game is really meant for teaching the songs.

Thanks for playing!

It is an overall-great game, but it's impossible to play a fast-paced melody, in V1.1 you could use the keys on the keyboard q, w, e, etcetcetc and 1, 2, 3 etc etc etc, and then it was very easy to learn hwo to play a melody, but now it's impossible to play in it's regular pace =( But very nicely done :D

It's a really good idea, and the demos brought back fond memories of videogames; there should be more of this sort of educational/nostalgic flash.
However, the implementation could be improved; I'm not a flash person myself, but the lag between pressing a key and the actual sound being played is rather noticeable. And maybe I'm being a bastard, but polyphony would be great :D
Yeah, and the slightly off-beat demos too. Maybe you could slave each key to a button on the computer's keyboard.
By the way, violence is 5 because the lack of violence can be as good as its presence.

THANK YOU DUDE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You cant belive how long if been searching for the zelda theme. and now i can play it to. all thanks to you. Make some more old nintendo themes

Very nice, and useful

This program works very well, i actually learned the mario theme from it. one bit of advice, for the lessons part the color of the key you are to press should be a brighter color other than grey, it gets confusing because when you mouse over a key it is the same color as the key you should be playing.

Otherwise a very nice piece of work.
