So, this is my first flash.
Sorry about the 12 fps, it was too late to change it by the time I noticed it.
Yes, it is Very short, but it was a lot of work. So gimme some good critiques so I can get better. And tell me if I should continue this.

And yes, the whole battle at the end is crappy.

EDIT: The reason I am submitting this is because the file is 12 FPS and after working on this much I want to move it up, and so I decided to get some critque out of this first part.

OK this was very good, thats why all the high marks, but it ended very short and i was getting into it, great music great visuals great story to start off with, but just ended, its a trailer yes but also in trailers you should show what to expect in the series like many different scenes many moments that will keep the viewer interested and wanting more, anyways its a decent start, hope to see more soon...

~X~

Nendai responds:

thank you for the review, I actually am hard at work on making a story and series out of this and will be coming out with the first of them within a month or two.

finish it up...

I think it looks really good so far.Somebody else had a really good point about taking the time you need to make a good flash, so take the time to do it.The viewers will still be here when you're done with it. I've noticed that trailers have 1 of 2 results. Result #1 they get blammed. Result #2 people ask "why bother to submit if you aren't done?" Not to mention that if people do like it there's a little frustration at not getting a chance to a submission in it's entireity.
Anyway that's my 2cents. btw nice choice of music check out some of BOUNC3's stuff you might like that too.

Nendai responds:

yeah, I've got plenty of BOUNC3's music downloaded, I might give it a try if I find it fits. thanks.

cool one

that was an alright trailer.... looks like it could be a great animation when it's completed. i look forward to seeing the finished flash.

Not bad

I really like this. I have one bit fo advice though. Many people will tell you to make it 24 or 60 frames per second. Unless the series is to be entirely tweened with next to no frame by frame I suggest that you stay at 12. Many really good artist that even get front page and top 50 are at 12. So don't be sorry for it. In fact, stay there. It looks really good as it is. And your usse of gradients looks fine to me, as well as your backrounds. A bit more detail would be fine, but otherwise great, and good luck on finishing this.

Okay, first off...

I am so sick of hearing people say "tell me if I should continue this."

First off, a good flash takes a serious amount of time, some people take months before submitting. You should be creating a flash because you enjoy it, not because other people tell you to do so or not to do so. Unless its homework, I sure as hell wouldn't want to waste 2 months of my precious time working on something that I wasn't very interested in or delay something that I want to do but can't.

Now that's out of the way.

The graphics, were surprisingly pleasant. There's alot of good color tone and well place usage of the gradient tool. However the lack of a good background really hurts the graphics score.

Normally polygon type characters seem generic with the exception of robot and mech animation. I don't know if your character is organic or what, but this design works.

I can tell you got the tree from the Tree Tutorial on Newgrounds (nothing wrong with that, because its an excellent guide and I'm using it right now for some forestry elements.)

I wish I can say more but I just got back from a long midnight shift.

Here is some advice,
-The world isn't going to end, take your time on your flash and don't feel like you have to finish it in two weeks or so.

-I have some tutorials under Favorite animations on my profile, I've found them extremely helpful and you will too.

-Never EVER say "If you really want me to, I'll finish it". I don't care how many authors say that on teasers. That just tells the audience that you haven't worked on anything passed a trailer and will brush off your work as another failed trailer.
---NOTE: If you want my opinion, If you like your concept, got ideas, and know how to execute them, than you know my answer.

I wish you good luck in the future.
