Oh great! Here it comes! The author says it's his first flash. Says he just "threw it together", while "playing around"! That usually guarentees crap... and what's this? White background!.... and what's this? I see a STICK FIGURE! Definite stick figure content! Any minute we'll see another one and they'll start fighting to a looped riff followed by a message telling me to vote 5, just watch, here it comes...
No wait, that's not happening. I'm actually being treated to an avant-garde silent movie. There's meaning here, and symbolism. Come to think of it, that stick figure has much more character than I was giving him credit for. He still used a looped song-byte, but at least it's not an annoying riff off a video game. I don't care what the author says, thought went into this! Effort went into this, defying all expectations. I could do with better graphics, but if wishes were fishes we'd all cast nets in the sea. The only real problem I honestly have with To-SmiLe, is it's a little long considering the substance we're being given to work with. We're given enough time to become bored with the graphics, and annoyed by the repetitive music.
The same movie, with the action sped up ever so sligntly, and a few careful cuts would have earned a 5 and 8, rather than a 4 and 6. Keep up the good work.
