Here is its eulogy, a collection of the kind words written about it while still among the living. They shall live on forever in its place.

Howdy folks.

This is an entry to Manchester University's Animation '13 - the short length is down to the one minute time limit.
This animation is a visual retelling of the poem 'The Man He Killed' by Tom Hardy, within this minute I've tried to create something cinematic and poignant, hope you enjoy!

EDIT: Frontpage! Thank you so much for all your support! I've reuploaded the animation with better sound levels, hopefully it'll improve the experience for some :)

Man, this is deep. Definitely gets me thinking. Also, definitely worth sharing.

Y'know, there really is no difference between soldiors across nations, is there?

I love the voice acting, I think this was brilliantly executed. Some people think this needs subtitles, but I think that would take away from the impact.

10/10, don't stop being awesome.

Wow, thank you so much!
I'm glad it got you thinking a little differently, and it's nice to hear you enjoyed my voice aciting.

Being awesome is definitely still in my priorities, but I think there's a lot of work to do still.

Thanks again! :)

I'm german so i want to say: Our helmets hold off some bullets, not like the crappy US and GB once.

There are some facts about WWII. One of it is: We had better equipment in our region ;)

And now say that i'm a bad guy.

<deleted> responds:

Guess this guy got the faulty helmet ;)

Thanks for the review :)

Gosh this is deep..

I'm glad you think so, I hope it helped you see things maybe in a different light :)

This was well made. The animation was very nice, the expected quality for a short film. I like your poem choice too, seeing how World War I is not represented enough these days.

I do find the voice acting a bit lacking though. You should give it some more emotion, maybe to the serious side.

All in all, this was well made. Keep up the good work!

<deleted> responds:

I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I've always been more of a comedic voice actor, so I wasn't playing to my strength here - it's always important to try things outside the box. But thank you, I'll definitely consider working on my voice acting, especially during those more serious moments.

nice job.

<deleted> responds:

Thanks :)
