UPDATE: CTA V is almost done and should be out by late December

Well it's been a long time coming.

This episode of CT: Apocalypse was a long long process of extreme hard work and much dedication.

This episode has so much more to offer such as:

1. A Playable Battle System (During the battle please do not press the spacebar)
2. Much better writing
3. A classic Chrono Trigger Feel
and much more.

Special Thanks to R1665 to all the long hours of help that we each gave to eachother on VG Exiles as well as this.

I will say that i am not the biggest fan of sprite movies. Though this one did catch my eye as not the normal sprite flash.

The sprites you used and the way you used them were really good. It all runs smoothly and feels like a good video game. As Fro said the battle scens could have used a bit of work, but that really did not make a difference since the overall content of the submission was really good.

The Audio was another strong point in you submission since it went along with what was going on in each part of the flash...it had the perfect rythem to the different parts.

There was alot of reading, but worth the time spent on in.
Really good job.

I'm not too fond of sprite movies, but I like this one. A lot. The Review Request Club did a good job taking this apart, so I don't want to rehash. One thing in particular, I loved the music. Really, really good choice.

I liked this enough to give it a 10, and I felt that the small errors (spelling, mostly) were not enough to detract from the production as a whole. The story was intriguing and the Battle System was really cool!

Unlike the last reviewer I absolutely love sprite animations. :)

~ Animation/Graphics ~

I love sprites so what can I say. :) Very good video game type feeling here. I thought the animation that you had was very smooth so good job with the sprite manipulation. I would suggest a bit more complex animations such as more of the battle scenes though.

~ Story/Content ~

I would suggest taking away half of the story here. I mean story and sprites make for an awesome submission, but when it could honestly take up to an half hour of reading just to get through the movie... bleh. The gaming system in the middle of the flash was nice. Introduction of more of that throughout the movies would be awesome.

~ Audio ~

Good sound effects and good music throughout the entire submission. No complaints here.

~ Overall ~

Try to lesson the reading load if you can man.

Don't get me wrong. It's really awesome, it's just that I lost interest. I guess it's since I didn't play the game or watch any other episode.

The animation was OK. I didn't really find anything too special, animation-wise, but I guess that's what a sprite movie's all about. The graphics, on the other hand, were flawless. I never knew you could make oversized pixels look so good, and it must've taken you ages. I liked the backgrounds a lot. Every single one matched with the story, and they all looked superb. The movie was really long as well, so I guess you worked really hard on this.

The story needs to grab the watcher's attention more, in my opinion. I got tired of watching after some people got shot by red lightning and went into some sort of portal and a cave scene appeared, and just closed the window. I lost track of the story very quickly too, but I guess that's just because I didn't watch the other episodes, although it would help if instead of adding a 'story' button in the menu, you add 'The Story So Far' when the movie starts and a narrator starts narrating a summary of what happened while showing some important bits and pieces from the other episodes. Just a suggestion...

Another problem regarding the speech bubbles. I quickly lost track of who was talking, so you should add an arrow pointing to who's talking.

The music was great for the movie, and changed quite a few times, which kept me watching a little longer, plus the sound effects were OK too. Good job on that.

To conclude, this has amazing graphics, backgrounds were extraordinary and great sound, but I got uninterested pretty soon and was waiting for it to end.

Though luck for you, I absolutely HATE sprite movies. I have never heard of Chrono Trigger nor have I viewed your other movies.

Animation & Graphics
Too bad that they were mainly sprites. The sprite animations were used and edited properly and I couldn't spot a flaw there. The backgrounds were very lovable and fit the rest perfectly.
The non-sprite things weren't good though. The menu looked terrible in my opinion and some of the portraits at the speech bubbles looked a bit filter-whored.

Story
I'm sure the story would've been better if I'd follow the series from part 1, but that's not what I'm going to do.
The story was quite good, but could use some humour, real tension. It couldn't keep me interested and I stopped around the part where some guy killed the bat.

Sound
The sound effects were quite good and matched the animation perfectly, and the music really fit the movie, I just didn't like the music. Don't change it though, it's just my opinion and I hate sprite movies and their music.

Gameplay
I skipped it by hitting SPACE a few times. You really should've taken that out, as I assume it was for skipping the fight during bug testing.

Details
There were a few spelling and grammar errors.

Overall
I couldn't really enjoy it, but for a sprite movie, it was good. The sprites were placed perfectly and the backgrounds were good. The sounds matched the movie and the story was interesting at first, but couldn't keep me interested, so I clicked the little cross at the top right before the movie finished.
