Here is its eulogy, a collection of the kind words written about it while still among the living. They shall live on forever in its place.

Simple... so simple

And yet so good... Damn... time to dust of some of the old Megadrive games XD

that was awesome!

ut now I want to go play Sonic 3k....Ah, well. The movie was great. But how come Sonic was completly invincible well he ducked? Meh. I'm just gonna not say anything more. Sweet movie, though!

Awesome little action clip

very very nice and remniscent of good ol' days sonic. Sure the music wasn't from any of the games, but it fit rather nicely, and Sonic did turn gold in the old ones, it was just that you needed either the super sonic cheat or you needed to get all the seven emeralds to get the "true" endings. Great work, excellent animation though I wish Metal Sonic and Robotnik were defeated differently.

Lame

This review is quite hard, but please don't take it personally - I'm just giving an 'as it is' opinion, I am not attempting to shoot you down, this is just how I feel...

I must say that I'm very suprised that this made front page. The music was generic and not typical of old school Sonic, but more like the newer ones, except it was - as I said - generic sounding, whereas the newer stuff is - although a tad cheesey - quite good.

Old skool game have old skool graphics which is fine - but look at Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom. Old graphics but excellent animation, whereas this one didn't execute things very well at all, especially when Super sonic was meant to be flying around attacking things. Yes I know that he's meant to be fast, but it didn't give that impression; it just looked flickery, like he was teleporting everywhere - there was no impression of force, strength or speed. You could have slowed everything down matrix-style or added some extra visual effects in to simulate the 'moving around' impression.

The whole thing seemed cheesey and generic, like the music. Fighting Metal Sonic then turning Super just at the last moment... I know you could argue that it's normal fare for Sonic like at the end of Sonic Adventure, but it didn't feel at all good. This kind of concept - doing something amazing at the last moment and winning the day has been done countless times in all sorts of entertainment genres and worked, but it just felt completely effortless and lame.

Also, this was short and bland. Things are fine short, if they make an impact or are full of exciting variation, but this was empty and unexciting.

kick ass

that was a pretty good flash and not a boring sprite flash like the others
