Latus is based on Oceania, meaning mostly Australia with touches of New Zealand, Polynesia, Melanesia, Micronesia etc.

Its connected in lore to the Alola region in a similar way to how Sinnoh and Johto are connected. So you might see some new Ultra Beasts and Ultra Beasts adapted to living in a new dimension

Latus does not feature a new form changing battle gimmick, but a handful of new mega evolutions have been discovered as well
