Veeeery close, it's actually Valkyrie Profile 2.
Well, I don't know about VK (I've never played it), but VK 2 disappointed me. The plot just turns out to be another "Mortals VS Omnipotent Being" in which the mortals look for a way to kick the Omnipotent 's being ass. The battles are tedious, I can't begin to explain how they bore me.
But judge for yourself. I would recommend it only if you're willing to taste something different.
