more likely though it's just upconverted for display, what do you lot think?

Possibly.

But did you hear that new thing about Nintendo's newest system? They're skipping HD and going right to some 3D thing, and none of the other game companies know about the technology. It's awesome.

I am pre-ordering the game just because of that.

Yay! Sonic Unleashed without the night stages, what everyone has been bitching about since 2 years ago...

this game is wii and DS only, that's it, and yet they post trailers and screens in HD.

Well they are just trailers and screenshots. My guess is they want to just show what the game will have, instead of show off the graphics. It is the Wii so of course, no one will be impressed with the presentation cause it's not HD.

I've been following the 3DS for a couple of months now

stereo 3D top screen, each eye sees 400x240 image (5:3 aspect ratio) bottom screen is 320x240

Oh man, I hope this doesn't cause problems like the Virtual Boy did.

Also I pray it isn't region-locked. That's the sole reason I don't have a DSi.

I maek lolz. I play Steam. I fight for genital integrity.

I know that I should know this, but how do I unlock the pingas in Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine for the Genesis?

Oh god, that's hard. You gotta beat normal and hard mode, stand on one foot, type in the password "red, yellow, blue, green," yell "SNIVELY!" into your Sega Genesis (or if you're using an emulator including console remakes, yell "Oh, it's from the show"), and go on an all-bacon diet for three days. Then it opens up.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, I see. This codes seems pretty legitimate, since I've heard of it from my friends on the playground. Will this work for the Game Gear version of the game?

Game Gear is the same premise, but you whisper into the console instead. And they screwed it up so the all-bacon diet doesnt apply.

of course it's going to be region locked! thankfully, that lock will only apply to DSi and 3DS games, original DS games will not be affected (if you're so into importing games, then just import the console as well)

...

so anyway, I'm trying to get 100% completion on the Wii version of Sonic Unleashed, and I noticed that, while for the most part the graphics are pretty good, the werehog model looks very sloppy and the textures on it keep shifting around, seriously, what the hell.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Seriously though, where's the logic? The PSP doesn't lock people out of foreign games (external DLC restriction measures don't count).

That's not what I've been told. According to this site, the North American DSi will not play Japanese DS games at all. I imagine it'll be the same for the 3DS.

And to think they crossed the line when they murdered Jennifer Strange...

yeah, it occured to me as well that Sonic Colors is closer to the classics than it initially appears. the alien things take the place of the small animals and the techno music sounds kinda like the old midi files...
nothing will ever be more epic than the Sonic 3 act 2 boss theme though...

...

the DSi and 3DS have regional lockout for the same reason as the home consoles, if you isolate the markets then you gain more control over the price, but dont worry, I'm sure our hacker friends will find a way to remove the lock... they managed it with every other console to date

Recently played Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection.

Probably the only new good game with Sonic in the title for the last eight years.

Zing!

I bought a Sega Genesis recently though so I don't have a good use for that anymore. Maybe I'll sell it.

Who the fuck made that anyway and where is it from?

I used to enjoy that song when I was about 13.
It's from an extremely rare CD released in 1996 that contained a PC arcade game and a bonus music video, among other stuff.
The song itself was written by Oscar Oberheim and Andrea Husak, but the actual vocalist is unknown.

Proof that Sega has always been stealing game ideas from the comics.

Released in February of 1993, Sonic Spinball was released in November that same year.

You do know that Sonic Spinball and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine was made for the "Archie" universe right?

Oy vey, that is some cheesy shit there. But, of course, that was the 90's - cheesy shit was big then.
