As I said in the other topic, Dogma's just trying to give people some info until I run updates. They're supposed to be about the region around the 50 spot. If they were to be expanded, then Dogma might as well just do the whole top 50 (something I certainly would have no problem with, but I question whether that's gonna happen, seeing as Dogma dropped her list for half a year, and although picking it up recently, is going to be busy with a movie and so forth quite soon).

So just have some patience, okay? Your spot on the list isn't going anywhere, unless you stop getting points.

Thanks again. I just saved both snapshots for easier checking once I run the updates as to who's made it and fallen off recently.

Repeat of what I said in the other topic:

Update of this list will be happening sooner than any of the other list updates with the possible exception of a 7.50+ VP update.

Quad is low priority right now, VP list has been updated many times in the past month... this is approaching 6 weeks with no updates. So expect to see updates of these somewhat soon. I'm going to be busy this weekend, though, so if it hasn't happened by Thursday night, don't expect to see it for several more days after that.

And BTW, if anyone's tempted to start asking if they're going to be on the list like some are in the protectors list topic... Don't even bother thinking about it unless you have > 7000 blams. It's looking like the 50 spot on the next update will be around 7100-7200 or so.

DANGER ZONE:

Well, BrownCow retired from NG, so he fell off the list like I was thinking he might. Back at the start of March, I predicted 3 people were about to make the list. I thought ORKarate would be one of them, but he hasn't done much in the past month or so. _Newt and Brainy, however, both made the list as I thought they would. Now, had I known it would take this long for me to find time to update the lists, I would have predicted far more than 3 new entries, and I woulda been far closer to being right. Congrats to all 8 of you. Now, the people most in danger are as follows: MielipuoliMieli, staphia, and Brainy (if he doesn't get moving quick, blams are going FAST right now). No one but the people just knocked off the list seem poised or capable of making the list next update, but who knows. Hice could make a comeback, BTW... ORKarate and TheOtherTruth have a shot, as well. But I think most of the major upheaval has passed for this list. For now, of course.

Greg's Notes:

51 rankups this time, compared to 7 and 21 and 12 and 6 and 11 and 7 and 14 and 16 and 4 and 8 and 6 the last eleven times (total of 163 for the blammers list!). 39 are on both lists, the other 12 are only on this list.

We're up from only 7 people not doublelisted to 10 people now. That's how it used to be, so it's kinda a return to the roots of these lists last summer.

Obviously the insane amount of time (46 days) between the last update and this one is the reason for so many people getting two rankups in the time between... but one person has pulled off a feat so improbable that it deserves mention:

Artificial has hit THREE rankups since the last update. Well, well done, man.

Smaller congrats to myself for moving up from #6 to #5 by passing RyoHahn's blam count. The future is a lot more active for me on this list than the other one, but that naturally comes with having 4 people in front of you instead of just 1. While I have passed TheJoe and Crono in total points in the past three days, their blam totals are still a bit out of reach. Either one can own me in blam rate if they want to, as well, but anywho. I'm happy being 3 overall, 2 in saves, and 5 in blams for now. #;-}>

So anyway.... I think this illustrates why list accuracy is a two way straight of attentiveness on the part of the updater and teh listee alike.

I used to be missing a lot of people for 1 or even 2 updates at times many months ago. I'd usually find people BEFORE they got to my list, but sometimes I'd find out too late, and add them after they should have been already added.

It just hasn't happened often recently, that's all.

Besides, unlike say Dogma's list, where all the gaps are evident, any gaps on this list appear NOT to be gaps because I don't have an actual blam rank or save rank stat from NG to see that I'm missing someone, eh?

So that has the dual effect of making these two lists appear more "perfect" than they should, but also of making it harder for me to know where mistakes/gaps are. It's a double-edged sword, but ANY non-automated/non-official-NG list is an inaccurate and human endeavour.

I doubt given the relative completeness of D0gma's list now that you've got anyone missed out. AFAIK it's complete up to Sergeant Majors, so you're not likely to be missing anyone. So to say that the list must be inaccurate (barring the moongod oversight) wouldn't be truthful. Similarly, seeing how Dobio and myself got stats for our lists from the horse's mouth a bit ago, they were accurate at one time.

Will go and have a look at the protectors list now.

It's all good...I don't check this one very often at all.

Yep. Although I still think you can reach the other one quicker, despite the lack of saves on the portal right now.

Just remember to compare yourself to #49 on today's update here, since Brainy is technically #51, not #50.

That's true for now, but by "inaccurate," I wasn't just referring to possible gaps or missing people from the lists but also to the fact that I can never update everyone's stats at once. By the time I get to the last person I check stats for, many of the other people have gained points no matter what time of day I run the update.

That's all I meant, that I can't be as perfect at creating a snapshot of a single moment in time as the official top 50 b/p list is. Perhaps someday liljim will create official top 50 blammers and top 50 saviours lists and put me out of my inaccurate misery, though. #;-}>

So let's see, you're #10 in combined, #10 in saves, and #13 in blams... huh... with #10 in both of the other lists, actually, I'd say you're likely to move up even more in blams soon. Nifty. Nowhere near as good as making this one, at least in the near future. While I'm 800 or so away from this list, I'm 1200 away from the protectors list. At my present blam:save ratio, by the time I got those 1200, I'd have something like 3500 extra blams...

I'm not that worried about it - the big one is getting in the top 50 combined, and I'm about 2,100 points and 20 places off that. If I cross that barrier, your two lists will come eventually. It's just that the blam list will come first. Nothing to do with my voting patterns, as they just reflect the amount of crap that comes into the Portal :-(

We had someone in the military last year who posted that they were getting shipped off to Afghan. That's been on my "at some point" list for a while now ... that I'll go through my posts and figure out who that was, fire off an e-mail and see how they are. Separate from that, I think it was Browncow who said he was getting shipped out as well, although I think he was headed to Iraq. There was a "goodbye" thread of some sort ~a month ish ago in General I never got around to replying in so it'll be harder for me to find that one, but it's on that same list of mine.

BTW, no worries I take over your top 50s ... I have my hands full ;) Quickies to give people near the edge an idea on where they are and what they need is about all I have time for.

Ah, I didn't realise you were now that much farther away on the saves list. Although, if you slow down at all, the blam #50 is going to move away from you much faster than the save #50 is... so there is that. Anywho... I guess you'll be doing the traditional blam list/top 50 overall/save list entry formation, then. #;-}>

There's no way the combined could come before both my lists, man. Unless you had the perfect balance of saves/blams that matched the ratio between the 50 spot on one list with the 50 spot on the other, that is, in which case you would make all three at about the same time.

No, like I just said... with your skewed balance of blams well over saves, you should be making this list before the combined.

By that, BTW, I don't mean that an update of this list with you on it will necessarily predate your appearance at #50 on the combined list, just that technically you will already be on this list by that time, even if I haven't updated it. Just as _Newt has been on this list for a long time, just not in one of my updates until today.
