Never Mind The Bollocks did the same for me.

My best first listen was probably Richard D. James Album by Aphex Twin, though.

I am not really allowed to get CDs until around mid to late January. I imagine my posting here will slow for a while. :(

Fucking brutal.

i love that album. 4 is such an amazing song...

as for year zero, i was all for it when it first came out but now i see it as quite disappointing =\
definitely one of the worst NIN releases, right down there with Purest Feeling (which is basically Pretty Hate Machine without Head Like A Hole, Terrible Lie and Sin...)

My best first listen was Streetlight Manifesto's first album. My mind was blown, i've listened to that album countless times.

Fuck yes.

I've got the complete Aphex discog, and RDJA stands out as easily one of the five best things he's ever recorded.

ditto.

also has anyone got Saul Williams new album? its a cross between Hip Hop and Industrial (Reznor produced it) and is actually pretty damn good. i payed the $5/£2.50 for it even though you have the option to download it for free. well worth it

GOD DAMN ANYONE
WHO SAYS A KIND WORD

Broke a fucking string on my old folk guitar due to a finicky fucking tuning for a Dir en Grey song I suddenly felt like playing for some reason ("CHILD PREY", to be specific). Fortunately, I have a fresh new pack of heavy gauge strings to replace the old rusty ones with, and they're purpose-wound for low tunings.

Come to think of it, why did I bother trying to tune the third string to G anyway? The string is used a grand total of six times during the song anyway.

For that matter, what the fucking Hell was I doing playing a J-metal tune on a folk guitar?

I've heard the saddest story ever today.

My godaunt's old husband, Mike, a couple of years ago when he was still alive, he ate a lot of Chinese food and had very high blood pressure. Karen (my aunt) loved Mike, and he was best friends with my father.

One day when Mike was on a bus, he went into cardiac failure. He was standing up and couldn't keep his balance, very tipsy because he had no oxygen. Gasping for air as he was falling the bus driver thought he was drunk so threw him out of the bus. You know, you'd think that would be just enough. But no, no no no no. They formed a circle and pushed him around. Mike fell to the floor and died. Well, these people, if you could call them that, put him on the bus and said he died.

2 days later, my mom's best friend Hinildo said he talked to Mike spiritually. He saw Mike crying and asking why someone could do something like that to him. Keep in mind this was before anyone knew the truth of Mike's death, where everyone thought he just died peacefully.

A month after Mike's death, a man called my god-aunt and told her everything that happened.

I cried while writing this, and I cried very hard when I first heard it.

And just like that....he was gone...

Wait, I don't watch the news, expect for satirical news from Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. I do read the news, on the interwebs. Also, this isn't a rant.

VAGUENESS IS SO COOL

OBVIOUSLY, MAKE LOVE TO ME. I WANT THE SWANS TO INSPIRE PEOPLE TO SHOT UP SCHOOLS!!!!!!!!

You can just imagine the news guys intervewing God:

"What do you think about the child who killed his school because of you?"
"He didn't eradicate enough people. What a failure."

I'd laugh if Angels of Light inspires a person to shoot up a school.

God is actually very nice.

I want to meet God. :[

Does anyone else find it ironic that John Balance (founder of Coil) died by falling down stairs?
