Pan Pipe Soundfont/vst? 2006-10-20 17:47:58

Hey does anyone know where I can get a decent tuned soundfont or freeware VST of Pan Pipes (or pan flutes, if you prefer) I've looked everywhere and all I managed was a set of untuned ones that were nice sounding, but unusable in any song.

Or perhaps a VST in general that does it that you have to pay for (as long as it's not too much eh? :P)

Option 1: Google
Option 2: Synth emulation
I vote 2

At least this signature is not obsolete.

Yeh, im not stupid, don't you think i've tried google?

Synth emulation was a route I was considering (it worked for all those people in the 80's, why not me? lol) But im a complete amateur when it comes to synths, being a guitarist and all. Any synth users out there wanna give me some advice on emulation panpipe sounds, I know it can be done, im pretty sure Rick Wakemen's done it on a number of occasions.

I myself am a Reason peep.
No luck with VSTs, but it came with a heap of kick ass pan flute samples

LHW - do you use Reason by any chance?

Reaktor can produce some really good woodwind sounds - I can always dump out a bunch of samples and try to stick 'em together in an NN-XT .sxt maybe ..??

I figure three or four velocities for each note would be a decent start...

Even if you don't use Reason, you could still use the samples

I'll look into it more and see if I can help.

I've been trying to reroute Reason through Fruity Studio's for the longest time >_>. I gave up many a moon ago.

Ethnosphere is the only VST I am aware of that has a good panflute in it, however it's really old, and I don't know if you could find it anymore.
