I hope so, but surely you must have been thinking that if there was going to be a true regeneration you would have waited till the end of the two-parter/series.

Frankly, you bumped the topic which you could have left alone. Plus backseat modding. -Jade

Telegraph report William Hill taking bets on 11th Doctor.

2-1 for Robert Carlyle (Begbie in Trainspotting)
4-1 for Jason Stracham (Who?)
9-2 for Alan Davies (/tv/ was right!)
6-1 for James Nesbitt (Was in Jekyll, which was written by Moffat)

Of the 3 of them I know, I'd be happy with any of them.

Robert Carlyle is pretty damn awesome though.

It's not about next episode. It's about when he actually does leave, whenever that is.

That's what I thought. "Stracham" is probably just a typo.

Looked him up on Wwikipedia and he's not there.

Agreed.

Also, what the fuck is this shit?

Russell T Davies fucking fans in the arse because he hates us and wants to go out screaming "WRITE YOUR WAY OUT OF THIS ONE, YOU PRICK" at Moffat out of jealousy.

Carlyle = fuck yes.
And Davies would undoubtedly be hilarious in the role, as for the others I'm not too fussed.

If I know Steven 'Every one of my episodes has been Godly and you all know it' Moffat, the only way he would even be encumbered slightly is if the entire universe was destroyed.

Actually, in retrospect he'd probably be able to write his way out of that as well. Not only that, but he'd be able to do it making as much sense as possible and without CGI.

Unlike someone we know.

Any thoughts?

12 regenerations, 13 Doctors. Stated in The Deadly Assassin.

The number of regenerations is arbitrary really. As if when the 13th doctor quits they're just going to shut up shop.

Yeah, but I'd hope they at least address the fact, like have an episode were he's granted more, or it's revealed that since the Time Lords no longer exist it doesn't matter anymore, or something like that.

You'd hope so. It would make for an interesting finale, or cliffhanger or something. Surely the point of having the limit would be to allow a storyline to be based around it.

It also makes him seem less immortal. You'd never really feel a regeneration meant anything if he had an infinite number of them.

What would be the point of having deadly enemies if the doctor died repeatedly until he beat them.

So I just wikipedia'd that, and apparently they don't take the five doctors as canon.

In an episode where The Doctor talks to The Master by farting, are you surprised?

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt since he wrote Coupling. It's obviously because he's such a versatile writer. Hopefully being the head writer doesn't just turn people into awful writers.

Way to waste Davros, RTD. Bah, it was watchable, but a Davros episode should have been so, so much better.

Fuck.
You.
You.
Pompous.
Asshole.

Seriously, though, I actually facepalmed when Donna saved the day.

Ehh, not bad in itself, but with all the originality of... well, an RTD script.
Seems like people in the Doctor Who universe don't understand the difference between "dying" and "clearly not".

It was also pretty convenient for the Daleks to install a button that made them and their entire empire explode.

What, in all honesty, was the point of keeping her alive? Only to have her go nanners to some chick over the phone.
