You can start making flash by downloading the 30 day trial of Flash from here.

Firstly, you will need flash, in which you can purchase\download free for 30 days here. Secondly, read a lot of flash tutorials, some you can find in the place I have linked you to, but this one is also very good. Thirdly, if you have any questions, go to the Flash Forum and ask your questions.

ok so ive download macromedia flash 8 video encoder ive clicked on to it and now im confused is this what all you lot use? grrr im sorry

You need to download Macromedia Flash Professional 8 or Macromedia Flash MX. Not the video encoder.
