They are probably allowed, but I wouldn't expect to win anything that way... Still, could be an original idea, a breath or fresh air. :-)

I'm gonna address a bunch of inquiries and shit so listen to me for once:

1- Dont feel restrained to make your pico look like 'tom's version or mindchambers or whomever... stay true to yourself i think it would be boring if everyones pico was the same.. i think that if you just stick to the basic orange hair and green sweatshirt and khakis your viewers should be able to accept it as pico.

2- Dont feel like you HAVE to use pico, the beauty is that you have many characters within the pico family to base your movie/game on.. just because its pico doesnt mean it has to actually be the pico character it more or less just celebrates the pico & friends franchise

3- I did not block you inglor.. i was just without internet at home last night.

4- I am going to get tom to host the pico intro file on newgrounds. Thanks to tom's front page post ive had half a million people msg me requesting them and having them hosted on my server will likely crash it if all half million decided to download it right after middle school.

5-i think sprites could be a cool solution... i wouldnt shun it.

looks really good from all the screenies, but it just looks to small (the actual map i mean). cant actually tell without playing it obviously.

My signature shows I have a reputation to protect. Unless I'm going to get a Weekly and Daily 5th (at least!) out of it, I'll have to change it! That, and that $2000 would go a long way to paying off my Student Loans.

Pico takes me back to the very bland days of my high school (That and Stick Death and Joe Cartoon... wow...) and I'm going to put a lot of effort into it because it's obviously left a mark on me (it's now, what, six years later?).

Bearing in mind I have a thesis project to do for University, I'm stretched for time as it is, but I'll try make my first full game anyhow. Who knows, maybe I can whip up an army of rabid fans in that time period.

Most of the thing I'm working on, though, will be frame by frame. Much faster to do than tweening, leaving more time for makin' it purr-dy.

v0.01 of Pico: Raiders of the Lost Arcade. Same type of deal as Madness Combat - move the mouse to aim the constant stream of bullets. Click the buttons to change weapon.

I've got to add moving about and a better weapon select. This is just me messing about with Flash and AS after avoiding it for months. I've got to fix that annoying problem with the spawning point for the bullets moving away from the barrel of the gun as the arm bends. Shouldn't be too hard...

So yeah. Replace the purple blob in the middle with Pico, have the weapons decently drawn, different bullet pictures, some enemies, and I might have a reasonable chance at this...
