Remember the game Adventures of Bart Simpson for the SNES. That had a decent 16-bit image of a school bus. You see the school bus when your walking along the sidewalk the and the bus drives by.

It contains a good number of earthbound sprites, which contains a couple of easily changeable buses. They're ordered by number, and I'd say 13+12 are probably the kind of bus that you are looking for. If not that, I'd check out "Bart's Nightmare" for genesis or SNES.
