I'm working on developing a 22 minute animated short called "You gotta be Kidney"

It was an original play written by my Friend Joshua Golden while he was in high school, and was very successful at 45 mins. It's being re-written completely, but is still the same story and main elements.

It would be animated by Ty Lederer and Myself. Ty's more of a traditional artist, but he designed all the sets and costumes for the original play. He's doing most of the character designs for the animated adaptation as well. I will be doing the backgrounds, scripting, and dealing with all technical problems in the production, which means most of the work in flash will be on my shoulders. I'm trying to go for a style similar to Dan Paladin's, only slightly more scribbled on the coloring. Thick outlines like in the show "invader Zim" by the fabulous Jhonen Vasquez.

the story is basically a dark comedy, with elements of Shakespearean tragedy, that revolves around the relationship of two personified kidneys. Other body organs play roles as well. The animation will take between 9-12 months, and we are hoping to have it ready for sundance'06. Of course it will also be released on newgrounds, and we'll sell dvd versions as well.

This epic project will either make me, or break me, and will be consuming much of my efforts for the next year.

Uhh, well, diddn't Solem release a couple of DVDs, not to mention the guy who made Rejected and the creator of Homestar's stuff....thats all I can think of.
