I thought I would take a moment to clarify all the rumors and paranoia going on about Newdgrounds.com...

1) While Newdgrounds showcases adult Flash, cartoons and games aren't the sole offering. You can find all sorts of traditional adult material there as well - so anyone who is looking for an adult site of any type should be able to find what they are looking for at Newdgrounds.

2) The fact that Newdgrounds is intended to separate adult content from NG doesn't mean we are turning Newgrounds into a G-rated site. Content can still be as extreme as just about anything you see here currently. There is some stuff on NG that we may eventually move over to Newdgrounds, but we won't be moving anything without first discussing it with the original authors. If you have something on NG that is questionable - stop freaking out, sit back, and wait to see if you hear from us. We plan to help people make $$ for content on Newdgrounds, and if we put any of your content on there, it will be with your permission and you'll at least be able to see it for free.

3) I want NG to be "presentable" (ie less blatant porn advertising), but give me some time. These things don't happen overnight. I'm putting the pieces in place, and if all goes well then you will see things change over time. when i first saw the +18 button on the top of the page i got very excited, not because of the new site, but because i realized now alot of the very lame "movies" people make that are in actuality a slide show of porn pictures may not be filling up the portal anymore.

and maybe good animators will start getting the scores they deserve since people won't see a funny non sexual movie after a porn slide show and vote lower on it due to the lack of nudity, great idea Tom

I really like the whole concept of making NG more 'presentable'. One time earlier this year, I showed Rooftop skater to a lovely female friend of mine. While I was pulling it up on her computer, I asked her politely to look the other way while I pull up the flash and avoid porn.

Then I found out that she liked porn. Hahaha...

Anyways, I guess that story doesn't really support my claim of wanting to make NG more presentable. I'll just say that it would be nice to get rid of the porn banners just in case the situation were to pop up again and the girl didn't like porn.

I think what you are doing is fair enough, everybody has got to earn a living and you are definitly NOT selling out, if you were you would start charging people for the use of NG, and you are not- and hopefully will continue not to. If you had let NG slide it would have turned into Newdgrounds.com, but you didn't so well done. However I do have one thing to complain about: the new banner at the top, please please get rid of it. Putting a clear "ADULT 18+" across the whole site does definitly not clean up the image. Even the 'Hot' banner, while I realise is just alot of collections still denotes adult entertainment. Please get rid of it.

I think that's a really good thing for newgrounds, It's really anoying when you are in a good mood, ready to kill Brittney a few times, and then have to look at adds for porn sites.

I'm all for the change. I was wondering why lately so many porn banners kept appearing on the pages. After a while it would be easy to see why people wouldn't take this site seriously, or think it's just a front for porno. I don't know how much shit you guys are taking for suggesting the change over, but I for one will be looking forward to it.

Keep the porn for Newdground!!Get off those stupid porn banners and promote others flash gaming sites etc.

I would be extremely happy if newgrounds again became just a good place to watch funny flash films instead of the dirty, dirty, dirty, site it is about to become.
