Is it ok to judge people by their taste and interest in music?

Judge here might be a strong word, but I mean more of getting conclusions about someone from just their music taste or interest. For example: assumming someone is gloomy because they listen to mostly dark and melancholic music or thinking someone is as energetic as kid with ADHD, because they restrict themselfs only to death metal, drum 'n bass, and breakcore or maybe someone is fanatic of a genre because they listen to it no matter if they are sad, happy, bored, shitting, eating or whatever.

Also, I don't think any genre of music is superior or inferior. It is just wanting to know if I can assume parts of someones personality from music surrounding them.

I tend to think that a single data point isn't ever enough to form any kind of conclusion. It's it wrong to do that? It's probably not great, broad stroke thinking seems to leed down bad paths quite regularly.

No. I personally know a few examples of amazing people who are into super cringe music genres! :D and vice versa :(
