tries too hard to be edgy and is blocked by many because he acts rude towards others to feel better about himself.

What do YOU think of this period of art history. Give a bit of context and opinion beyond three names and three images, if you’re looking for a discussion, start it off.

I guess that was the golden age of American anything honestly. During that period, man landed on the frigging moon, the first electric guitar was invented, the best and the most groundbreaking Hollywood classics were made (such as King Kong or Wizard of Oz), and of course the most amazing classics of comic books were released (Carl Barks' Donald Duck, and Jack Kirby's superhero comics).

well the first illustration is called 'Six Greedy Loafers' (loafer being an old-timey word for slacker). The old man is dying on the bed, and his six sons are peering at him like vultures. My interpretation is that they're all being excessively friendly to get the most inhereitence. It isn't that present in this illustration, but Dorne was really skilled at depicting facial expressions.

Norman Rockwell's triple self-portrait, where he painted himself painting himself. I'd call his work idealized realism. He depicted many scenes of American culture from the perspective of an everyday person, but staged more dramatically through lighting, composition and exaggeration.

Leyendecker had a unique and appealing rendering style, especially with drapery.
