Keygen music! 2023-11-26 05:31:22

I've been listening to a lot of keygen music recently and i've been wanting to try my hand at making some. the main idea i've noticed is that the waveforms are hand drawn instead of synthesized, which gives it a nice low-quality feel. anyone else got any tips on how to make this style? or if you just have nice songs to recommend I would love to hear them aswell! ^o^

I have seen crazy MIDIs and SNES sounds being used for FL Studios 5, and Harmour. I think they brought it back just for music like this. Just look for chip sounds like sytrus but better. I made a song just here recently, thinking hard about another website, ocremix.

it's actually made with amiga trackers, either get an amiga pc and a copy of fasttracker or get furnace tracker, of course you need the right waves, samples and a flavor to it

Best regards

the best working environment for these are trackers, you also should not include any plugins in your work (even if your tracker application supports them) and just work with audio samples within tracker's limitations.

LHS Chiptunes' Reloaded installer series (especially 1 & 17) have gotta be my all time favourites.

Common themes I've seen most keygens stick to are chiptune influences and upbeat vibes, besides that it varies. And yeah some are still sticking to the old amiga MOD format, but other formats like S3M or even XM are also used. So modern trackers like OpenMPT would be perfectly valid, and you can always make MODs with OpenMPT anyways :p
