Since I've seen alotta people on this forum are doin this, I might as well join in.
So yeah, I made this thread to document how my art will evolve throughout however long I'm here, and also to receive criticism of said art, cuz I wanna improve my art to the best of my ability, yknow? Plus I might throw in some sketches and shiz cuz why not.

Ima start out with posting this piece which I worked on for the past couple of hours, and was a breeze to render since it was in black and white and not some funky color pallete (also I totally didnt steal this idea from @broskullemoji I totally didnt)

Your style is very cute. Your characters have a charm that seems to come naturally, which is always a good thing to have in your corner. The way you draw them, with simplified expressions and oversized hands, is not "correct" but it's recognizably "you" and that's all that matters. In my opinion, you should keep developing this style while trying to introduce more detail and nuance (through colors, shading or linework), without compromising all the things that make it genuinely "you". It's a challenge but that's just how art is. Good luck on your journey!

Finally finished rendering that sketch I posted about, because I realized that I was my bf and I's 1 month anniversary of being together. So I mustered up what motivation I had and finished it. (also yes the title is a Talking Heads reference and you are now my friend if you got the reference)

I happened to relisten to I Care Because You Do by Aphex Twin, and by happenstance I had Ms Paint open. So I drew while I listened and I made something that I feel captures the whole vibe the album gives off, that being a boss battle in a Fallout-ish Fire Emblem Type game
Probably not gonna post this, cuz I don't think it fits in my gallery

For what it's worth, I think this is pretty neat. Yeah, it's different from what you usually post, but I see that as a good thing. Whenever you feel like doodling something while listening to music, do it. It can be an unexpected source of inspiration and lead you to draw something you never would have drawn otherwise. Experiments like that can do wonders for getting outside one's comfort zone and improving as an artist.

Man this was a pain in the ass to finish. I accidentally merged all the layers just as I forgot to put all the shadows in, then I noticed that I didnt color Moshe's shoes, then I got forgot to color his guitar strap too, etc. I ironed all of 'em out last minute and now we got this. More content for the fake band my ocs are in lol
