Chalk stuff

I came home from work and found someone left me a gift.

This was a pleasant surprise. I had new mediums on my mind, and this was a good opportunity to explore that.

I'm fast approaching one year in my current home and this will be a nice help.

Not everything made it, but oh well, I got more than enough.

It says "my precious". I was trying to draw Gollum as a ball hog, but I ended up choosing a version of Gollum that resembled Nosferatu. The lighting, as well as me forgetting other people aren't tetrachromats like I am, is to blame for the balloon being difficult to read.

I used to doodle a lot on the street back on days. Liked doing kind of floor-murals. Always warms my heart, when see some done nowadays by others.

I had to bear witness to this fight at the picnic tables today (wink). Knowing them, they probably thought Kirby ate their tomatoes. So they took to sword-fighting with my chalk.

And in all honesty, I think I encountered my first critic.

From his face, he seemed like a tough crowd. But he's probably as immersed in local history month as much as I am (hence a lot of what everyone sees).

A fun trick i learned from one of my childhood friends when I was a kid is that you can blend sidewalk chalk on asphalt or concrete really well with the end of a pool noddle. We would cut little 1 inch disks off his old ones with box cutters and they came in handy so often!

I drew with chalk a human transmutation circle once. Almost got in trouble for it.

I just told people they were just chalk drawings. Simply did it for fun.

I still remember making the measurements walking ten feet for 10 foot in diameter.

Yeah it's from fullmetal alchemist, but it was a thrill to draw.

I wish I had kept the photos. It took a good 3 hours to draw in chalk.
