It just occurred to me that the one stupid game I posted on Newgrounds is gonna be exaclty 11 years old January 31.

On January 12th, not only are browsers not supporting Flash, but Adobe themselves will block Flash SWFs from running on their players, with the intent of getting people to uninstall it. How will this affect the Newgrounds Player in any way?

People may need to download the current build and update - we've changed to an older version of the Flash runtime that shouldn't have a killswitch or blocker. Really looking forward to Ruffle running everything, though.

You can search Newgrounds for tutorials on AS2 and you should find a ton of stuff to get you started.

Ruffle doesn't play on Mac OS10.4... Hope to both see and submit Flash .swf files for all NG eternity.

I might be bitting more than I can chew but I really hope I get time for all these 😍😍😍 I have an extra trick up my sleeve that might eat up the full time but let’s hope that with the time extension I can get all of them done, plus the little surprise and maybe a couple of extra chars.

Im curious how are our games going to be judged? Is it just Tom judging or is some of it based on the score? Any guest judges if any?
I’d personally prefer having judges over going by score btw.

We're gonna have a group of judges - a lot of times it's the NG office crew but might bring in some guest judges from Flash gaming history for this one. Also some of the games being made (like mine) aren't competing for prizes in case anyone wondered.
Ah my flash is just adobe animate now and I can't find a way to get actionscript 2.0, only 3.0 and ruffle doesn't even support that version

You can get Flash CS6 off of Pirate Bay and use the 30 day free trial (No need to pirate). AS2 will work in Flash CS6.

We extended it last week due to a decent number of people wanting more time / wanting to still come aboard.

It’s really coming together now, feeling much more confident. Gotta add the last bits of code so it’s all working and then I can keep on adding characters and then even more clothes 🙌🙌

I’m having some issues with the newgrounds medal system, with the icon not showing up and the medal not being awarded to the user’s profile, anyone know if this is a ruffle issue? On my end it all seems to be working but when uploaded to NG it breaks, a weird note, at the beginning of the release a couple of people got the medals and them it seems like it broke.

The medal art not showing up is a known thing but if it’s not unlocking, check to see if your api connector is in debug mode.
