It has been 26 years since the Chicago area had a deadly F-5 tornado. The last F5 to hit here was the one that struck Plainfield, Illinois on August 28, 1990 which is just 37 miles away from the city of Chicago. Since the weather has been more unstable in the spring and summer in the Midwest for the past several years, do you think it is only a matter of time the city of Chicago will get hit by a powerful tornado?

If you live there it's best you'd probably leave.
F5 tornadoes are rare as far as percentages go. though it's entirely possible the Chicago area could be hit by a tornado i wouldn't bank on it being an F5
