- Is there any way of finding out if there have been replies to forum threads which you have posted in?
(Other than just looking for each one manually, of course)

Just go to the bottom of the page and search your thread name.

You could always go to your post history, then go to the topics from the links in there. Sorry, NG forums move way too fast for a "notify of replies to this topic" feature to be useful.
