Hello there!
I'm a new animator. I'm starting by animating stickmen I guess.
I did not get to far with it...
But I hope I will.
I would love to get some tips and help if possible, some tutorials might do as well.
I wish to reach a higher level.

Thats my last work - http://imgur.com/9qlu2BX

I'm currently using a tablet to animate.
Thanks :3

overall it seems fine, the run cycle is good, but the character seems to get smaller with each frame. keeping body proportions is very important when animating

Thank alot! I will work on it!

Here's another animation that I've made

I tried my best not to resize the stick figure.

Your animation isn't too bad, but as mention in earlier posts, you are having trouble keeping size... but you can resolve that by drawing:

Firstly: Key frames (main poses)
Secondly: motion, possibly draw arches on a different layer with the onion skin
and then you need to add your inbetween frames

that's all i can think of that really covers stick animation, but really that genre really wont take you that far as it went out of date in 2004, but i would suggest if you wish to delve in to character animation with richard williams and learn some proffesional 2d animation practise and if you haven't i would suggest you get a tablet.

You need to practice, practice, practice. That is the only thing that will make you better. You can do stick figures forever and be good at just stick figures. Learn function and application of design (such as taking momentum, gravity and physics as well as body dynamics into your animations). The best way to learn is with frame by frame, or even resorting to traditional because you'll understand timing and work flow better, although flash really sucks for frame by frame to be honest (when getting to professional detailed work level). Just gotta practice everything:

Drawing in general
Life Drawing
Studying of effects
Ease
Squash and stretch
Anticipation, Action, Affect
Wave actions (a wave passing through a medium, like a cat's tail)
Physics.
