Instead they realized time was not on there side and they had to take a chance. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think a lot of people would have panicked if they were in that situation. This isn't a Movie.

Looking this up from various news sources it is far more likely that the girls made the tractors weight shift just enough to allow the father to slip his torso free. IF any actual "lifting" or even "flipping/rolling" had occurred it is unlikely that they would have requited a neighbor's assistance with his own tractor.
