Try out Tales of Graces F
It's a great RPG game. Good story and fun battle system.
Tales of Xillia comes out August 6th.
I would recommend P4A for the 360, but considering the multiplayer isn't as good on it, go with the PS3 version. Persona 4 Arena is accessible, but deep for a fighting game. It has everything a good fighting game needs, but with an excellently written story that continues the events after Persona 4.
Seriously; buy it.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is the only game you need for the PS3.
It's the only reason I bought the system in the first place, now it's just a Blu-ray player/Netflix machine.

Make sure you play through the Metal Gear Solid HD collection first. Having only played MGS3 and having only read through bits of MGS1 at the time, MGS4 made little sense. Great game, but download the Metal Gear Solid 4 database (free on PSN) before playing.

That's a good point.
Let me rephrase this:
MGS1 from PSN, MGS HD Collection, and MGS4 are the only games for the PS3 you need.
I would pick something like injustice or mortal kombat
