So i recently bought a new TV.
42inch HD and i have HDMI cable. When i turn my ps3 on it runs at 1080p. It says it in the corner for a second. When i watch Netflix etc on my ps3 its 1080p.
When i put a game on tho it goes down to 720p, is this normal? Im playing BF3 so i checked the back of the case and it says 720p on the back but surely it runs at 1080p as well right, or am i missing something?
How do i get games to run at 1080p? urgh.
I think only PS3 exclusive games run at 1080p. I could be wrong though.

Very few games run in 1080p. The vast majority run in 720p natively, but some even run at lower resolutions at upscale to 720p. The Call of Duty series, for example.

It's just the game. Some games will run at 1080p some won't and some will be just scaled up from non HD resolution to 720p.
ah ok cheers. Just thought something was wrong and it wouldnt run in 1080p thats fine then long as im getting the most out of it i guess
Most games dont do 1080P, check the back of the box, it usually shows what definition it supports. However most PS3 games support 1080i, the difference im not sure, but it may mean you cant even run those games in 1080, seeing as i and P are completely different letters!

The games you listed aren't that graphically intensive, hence the full 1080p support, and still 4xAA is a low level of antialiasing. Until consoles can do MSAA at 1080p, nty.
