I dont know,i use mx 2004,but i guess its the same.Select the "movie clip",go to properties and select "alpha",thats how it works on mx 2004...

Exactsame on MX 6 methinks, make your sprite a graphic/movieclip and select its alpha, which will be at 100%. Then move it down the slider to the apprpriate percentage.
