Can you get revenue if you do sprite animations?
(With sprites like sonic, mario, megaman)

Yes you can, although it would be good if you credited the company that owns the sprites.

I'm not sure if it's legal to use sprites without permision in the first place. So, asuming you do not have permision, no.

Actually, it is illegal to use sprites in the first place. On top of that if you are getting a profit from sprites than a law suit can be pulled out and you will be in serious trouble. No matter if you credit the company or not, it's still against the law.

That being said, the chances of you getting in trouble from it are very very low and I even have some ads in sprite submissions that I have made.
