The smoothing is far too high and it makes the clouds look really crappy. So either turn the smoothing down below 24 or keep the smoothing higher but fix up the lines after with the arrow/selection tool. The lines may look bumpy and stuff if the smoothing is lower but you have much more controls over the lines and it'll look better in the end. It's good apart from that, the face in particular looks pretty cool.

I like the lighting better on the first one, and it seems a bit sharper, which is a big deal for me. as it is atm I would choose for the first one; however, if you were to unblur the second one, and restore the highlights on the pigs head, that would be cooler.

Thats not in the rules; However, we want poeple to make something specifically monochrome; not edit a picture so that it becomes monochrome

My second entry... this time drawn in Shi-Painter. In revenge you must dig two holes, one for your enemy and one for yourself. Unless you decide to get naked and fight your enemy near a cliff. Saves digging and is better for the environment as clothes take a while to decompose.

I hope it's monochrome enough.

Alright, I finally got my entry done. I half-assed it towards the end though. I didn't have the time or patience to color the background, so I touched it up a bit in photoshop. Also, you can hardly see some of the details with this size, so I'm submitting a full-version in the art portal in a second.

It was originally done in blue pen, and I recolored it a bit in photoshop because my scanner left some weird red smudges on it.

Here they are.
I photographed 6 &9 too, because 3 and probably 7 and 8 are the only ones that used black, the rest simply used paint straight out of the tube for the darks (dioxazine purple, 6, is really dark). 9 was pthalo turquoise, also fairly dark out of the tube.
The pieces weren't designed for a square format, so while i've cropped them for the following pictures...

they'd look a lot better if someone with access to a lovely photoshop clone tool copied the background shade into the whitespace of the following pics: 2b 4b . Those two are the ones where the cropped compositions aren't nearly as good as the originals.

Use whichever you please.

Those pieces don't follow the rules. Pick any color. You get that color, white, and any colors between the two. You've both used shades that are darker. If you don't get what I'm saying check page 9 my reply to:
