Some of the older NGers may know of the old cat that lived at NGHQ. We haven't really heard of him in a while. So, anyone know what happened to him?

It was a cold night there wasnt any food in the office and the admins were to busy to go to eat earlier, the snow covered al lexits until the morning and they needed something to keep them going into the morning when it would thaw out...a sad day for NG.
I thought sherbert was hit by a car?
Can anyone verify this?
The redesign happened, now my signature doesn't match anymore.
Hey guys, I heard Sherbert had an alt account, anyone know who it could be?
Those who fight Kid only seek to amuse him.
Okay, now I know you are an alt.
BTW I made a picture for you Kid. Made in MsPaint.
winner of the first annual NG Hunger games

you are everyone, aren't you? tom, sherbert- whose alt aren't you?
Last I heard, Sherbert isn't doing to well. Check out Tom's reply near the bottom.

I think Tom would probably have mentioned it to me if something had happened to Sherbert, as he knows I love cats. Last I heard, he's still kicking around, but he has health problems. And he is a bit moody (has been for a long time).

Aww, sucks to have cats dying I really dont want my cat to die but he probably only has a few more years...
They might just be little animals but you grow really attached to them.
btw, not enough is said about Tom's other cat, Charlie. He's a great cat, though he's a little needy. The first time I went to visit Tom, I stayed on his couch at his previous house, and I woke up at around 3am with Charlie sat on my chest, staring at me.

So those times Newground shut down were due to Sherbert jumping infront of the monitor forcing the admin to stroke him unable to get the dark will to throw him off?

so adorable, cats always know that if they meow long and loud enough they will get what they want...

The website is run from a data centre in downtown Philly. All of the servers (of which there around 35 or so) are rack mounted. There is no monitor.
Tom used to have all the units delivered to his house before he got the office, one of those units (which has been long-since replaced), Sherbert is sitting on in the picture.
Nowadays, all the units go to the office, where Tim configures them as much as he needs to, and he then totes them down to the data centre and installs them.
Any additional configuration he can usually do remotely, unless it's a case of swapping out hardware or whatever, where he has to be there in person.
When Tom used to get the hardware sent to the house, both of the cats would nosey in on stuff, which is what you see Sherbert doing in the picture.
Of course, not a lot of that goes on any more, since all equipment gets delivered to the office, and Sherbert hasn't interfered with things for a long while - he likes to take himself off to quiet corners of the house most of the time.
Charlie is the mischevious one, and in fact, Tom sent me an IM when they had heavy snow in Philly and he couldn't make it to the office (so was working at home), saying something along the lines of, "I've just been reminded of one of the reasons I wanted the office so badly - Charlie." If you are using a laptop or computer, that cat will do anything it can to come sit on your lap, on your hands/keyboard, or when monitors were bigger, slumped over the top of the monitor. :)

Is that right?
The "Cat of the Day" section is much too outdated. It saddens me.

Sherbert likes to party.
I wonder if Charlie and Sherbert get along with the new Fulp baby and vice versa... Sometimes cats love to rub up on babies, trying to claim them.

2011 UPDATE
I PM'd Tom yesterday on a whim, seeing how Sherbert was doing and he promptly responded that's still alive. Hooray!
