The game gets better at higher levels, you get more crap, your guy looks cooler, and quests become more interesting.

I guess it's the whole grinding appeal.

On your first year of playing WoW, there would be so much content that it would be equivalent to 10 average length games, or bigger actually. Also it gets updated a lot, unlike games that dont have subscriptions.

Agree, its not paying for crap, its worth the price by far.

Its not really "new" content in effect, I mean if you were to follow my example and buy say, Bioshock & Mass Effect then you would notice they are VERY different, whereas the "difference" in WoW content is basically just new textures, a bunch of stats a few genuine new things.

You think of the expansion packs as just a few textures changed, and Naxxramas and Ulduar and Icecrown Citadel as few genuine new things? Well ok Naxxramas isn't exactly new but the rest are.
So if you still stick by your point that all of these are minor texture changes etc, have to say following the same ideals there are vertially no games that are genuine new content as wow does it just as much as all over games copy the same things.

Socialising, sports, and extra curricular activities arent contributing to society, and aren't any more important than computer games.
It's alot more than sitting on your arse all day just trying to get by at school, coming home to Newgrounds and going 'well thats just life'.

It's rather sad that people don't try to do anything else.

Well i have personally tried sports and socialising, and i hate both, so i don't engage in such activities.
And its not like i don't do anything else but play on the computer even though i barely leave my home.

As has been mentioned a lot of times, like most other MMOs, it's just non-stop grind with mediocre graphics.

11,000,000 people play WoW and 6,681,030,277 people don't play WoW. 6,681,030,277 people can't be wrong.

No game is worth $15 a month to play. Actually think about how much your spending and then tell me it's not a stupid addiction.

We had some good times, Newgrounds.

Of course you are going to have to pay monthly to keep playing it.
You cant compare it with games like Mario or Halo that you just pay for at the counter or whatever, if those games had half as much content, and a game world thats half as big, and got updated as frequently(or updated at all) as WoW then you would have to pay monthly for them too. I am sick of this stupid argument.

I tried the trial, and it bored the fuck out of me.

The game consists of constant grinding to get to the next level, there's not really much skill involved in it.

I prefer faster paced games that require skill more than countless hours of playtime.

that only makes it worse! so, your saying its a bunch of older fucks sitting in their rooms, or the basement grinding on WoW instead of actually doing things with their life!?

you must be one of them you raging troll.

For once, I agree with explodingbunnies. I believe the world is ending.

Adults playing a game pretty much all the time is sad. My friends dad puts 72 hours a WEEK on that game. He has 20 level 80 characters, and his son (my friend) has 4 level 80's. It's ridiculous because he ditched seeing the fireworks at a local fair to go play WoW. Mind you he promised her he would as well. This game is more harmful then it is fun.

Well.

Shit.

Oh, my bad. It looks different, you get some new stats/weapons and some newly skinned enemies with, oh lets say different abilites.

Now, I admit that WoW isn't going to turn into RTS in an expansion pack or anything, but it is still very much the same thing. And as such WoW is a grind, and as well all know not everyone enjoys doing the same thing over and over.

So, 10 different games or 10 same-y games?

How about the idea that everyone on this forum has most likely tried WoW at one point or another, but have actually got a good taste of games and decided that a game where you do the same damn thing over and over again (fighting monsters is the same damn encounter, and quests all involve killing them) to see the end to a neverending generically stupid story in a genirically stupid game world populated with retards running around that claim they're 17+ because they aren't, or if they are, are some useless blobs of fat that are the example of a literal shit stain on the earth. And they don't want to be told that they've been wasting their time for the past six years doing something that'll never affect their real life, instead, ruining it.

And such is you.

I only hate WoW because it has people mistaking WarCraft 3 for it.

Yeah, that's true. I guess it's like cigarettes. When you add it all up, it really just doesn't seem logical to do it.

I played it since it's debut and quit in August because I knew I would fail if I played it here. I'll admit that it can be repetitive but once you get past the "doing the same thing over and over" and actually get into the game/ a decent guild, it does become quite entertaining. The only downside is that once you get into it, it does become a drain on other things in your life.

I know some kids who have sacrificed their futures for the game. Like, seriously. One kid I know failed out of college because of it.

That's why I quit it, I could see myself playing WoW for maybe another 2 years, college, that's the rest of my life that I'd fuck up by playing WoW.

Sadly, the WoW Development team has catered to complete and total douchewads like yourself. "Zomg, I have to pay to grind?!". Yeah...yeah you do. It's a grind that people enjoy. And hell, you asswipes complained so much that they TOOK AWAY THE GRINDING! Wow...who would've through such a blasphemous thing?! That's right...no more grinding! Here, let me dumb it down for you idiots:

1. Refer a Friend. Don't have any friends? Then GTFO and stop complaining about a game you're too biased to play. Refer a Friend and receive 300% Experience all the way to level 60 as long as you're grouped with that friend. That's half the game right there. Booya, you're 60 in a few days flat. No grinding. Every quest gives about 20-30% of a freakin' level. Easy enough for you tight-asses? Not happy to dish out 15$ to pay a game? Want it to be faster? Here's your freakin' answer.

2. Roll a Paladin. Tired of having to actually research and look up how you should see your class/character a few levels down the road? Too stupid to realize that not everybody enjoys random button mashing? Roll a paladin! That's right! Just roll a paladin and you'll be swimming in gear and gold before you can even blink. They can tank, they can heal, and they do top-end DPS. Don't feel like actually putting a little thought into the process? Roll a paladin!

3. Raiding. Oh...what...raiding? Yeah, that's right. Get together with a bunch of other gamers and take down a few bosses that require at least TWO of your god forsaken brain cells rub together to form a coherent thought. Can't muster up the brain power to do this? Don't worry! Blizzard has made sure that even retards like yourself can get gear just as fast! That's right! Just click a button and you instantly join a queue across multiple realms that put you in a group full of people willing to carry your lazy ass through an instance for gear! How can you lose?!

TL;DR - STFU. Seriously. It's a damn game. If you don't like it, then don't play it. There's enough damn retards on WoW ruining it for those of us who actually enjoy an actual challenge. Go finish up your bromance with your Call of Duty friends.
