Ok, the only midi sound bank I can use due to the program is the General Midi bank.

However, I'm not sure what combinations will get me techno, electronica or something along those lines. Anyone know the kind of combinations and instruments I should use? Thanks!

You know, trying to make a techno sound from General Midi is kinda a little hard to do. But it's possible!

I would suggest using these instruments: SnythBrass 2, Lead 1 (square), and Lead 2 (sawtooth)
As for bass, use these: Snyth Bass 1 and/or 2, and Lead 8 (bass+lead)

Hope that helps!

As far as I'm aware, most GM soundsets have an 808 and 909esque drum patch as well.

Select midi channel 10, then cycle through the banks until you find something good ;)

OP, Midi is fail. Normally, f you were to submit it here, it would SOUND like it was a midi-rip, even though it isnt. And besides, you need to save the files as MP3's to be able to upload them here. You would do better to find some free DAW's, or try some demos (ex. FL Studio, Reason) instead of using midi.
