Newgrounds Mobile

I was on the web from my phone today, and I was thinking about the idea of having a Newgrounds Mobile. I know you can't view games or flash on your phone's web really since it doesn't suppose flash player -- but think about being able to access your PMs, the forums, and all that good stuff from your phone?

I think the staff should whip up a version of the site, which is cellphone friendly. This would really help the community, I think. And I could just go on the site on the go, rather than caring around my ipod touch or laptop.

The url could be like; (www.newgrounds.com/m) or (http://m.newgrounds.com) or something similar to that. It'll just be a good idea, I think that would really help out the site.

Another good idea would to get a mobile app for the apple store for ipod touches and iphones. That'll really be a nice gadget to toy around with.

I've been on the site a couple of times with my pda/phone via wifi and browsed the forums. It's difficult to navigate with all the stuff going on with the page. a stripped down mobile version would be nice but is unlikely.

iPhones barely do. I think they have flash player 5 or some stupid shit.

I used to go on Newgrounds PSP and it loaded fine, it was pretty fun, actually.

My HTC Touch can go on Newgrounds fine, mind you it's a tad on the slow side. The iPod Touch / iPhone is great for web browsing, except the lack of a Flash player, so no voting for viewing Flash :(

The forums work on iPhones. So do userpages. Flash movies and games do not though.

Other than small apps that Mike's putting together at the moment, I doubt that there'll be any impetus to create a working version of the full site in the immediate future, since the last time we toyed with that stuff, it wasn't utilised often.

Everyone talking about accessing Newgrounds with iTouches -- I'm talking about the people that DON'T have iTouches. For the people with web on their phone, and such. And besides, To liljim -- That was four years ago. Technology has advanced now and mostly everyone has a cellphone nowadays. I'm sure more people will use it now.

That was ages ago liljim. It's a brave new world where more and more people have the internet in their pocket and expect for the sites they visit regularly to have a mobile version.

Hopefully it will do better than the site for PSPs http://www.newgrounds.com/psp, which phones are better than PSPs and more people have them so it should.

Not quite addicted but some people have important things involved with Newgrounds such as PMs kind of like an email system, and friends to keep in contact with. They also have to organize collabs and such. And it's easy if they can do that on the go!
