Oh the fun of Playstation 1... 2009-01-22 08:08:24

Yesterday, I was working hard in my Six Form study area, I was finishing off some Graphics coursework and talking with mates, then it came...

A guy brings in a Playstation 1 to go with the New TV we had gotten 2 weeks ago, I literally jumped and out of my seat and went;
"Woah, a PS1? What games have you got with it?"

He told me he had the two best fucking games ever, 'Crash team Racing' and 'Tekken 2'.
Before I knew it, there were about 30 people crowded in the study area, ready to watch some mates play CTR, I grabbed myself a front row seat.

It was such a retro moment, it was a very happy atmosphere, not anything like it would have been if someone brought in a 360 for the day.
I recorded a video of a race, 7 laps, forgot the track.

I didn't record any Tekken, I wish I did though, everyone went mental.

Ha, I remember playing Crash Team Racing in the days. I still wish I knew where my PS1 was so I could go play it again. Oh the nostalgia.

I might not agree with your opinion, but I respect it. Userpage

Wow, you must be working in a great place for something like that to happen. If I was still in my college and someone brought in those games, the majority of the students would be like, "Duuuuuh, why didn't you bring in the 360 or the PS3 instead?" which is a damn shame. Infact, that's what my dad was like when I was getting the Mega Drive back out last year.

CTR and Tekken 2 are classic PS1 games. Although none of my friends are fans of the Tekken franchise, I'm sure they'd have fun with CTR if I were to get it again for my PS2 or get it from the PSOne Store.

I have CTR on disc, and downloaded on PS3. It's such an ace game. Way better than Mario Kart ever was.

Also, that track is Papu's Pyramid. It's fucking evil, the 90 degree corners when you're going up the pyramid are horrible.

Personally, I loved that track. Just trying to go through that shortcut was a bitch though.

Obviously, but they're still the hardest corners in the game.

People aren't super critical and judgemental about games around here, which is great, I could bring in a atari and people would be off their feet.

Those two games i feel are just fantastic, I remember spending countless hours just doing the time trials, going through arcade and unlocking characters. You can't beat a good ol' PS1 game.

I never regarded the ps1 very highly. Hardware wise N64 and DC pwned it. Although the two games you listed where very good.

Only idiots and nerds complain about hardware, its all about the games man.

Which the DC and N64 clearly both had, and so did the PS1. There for I am comparing hardware.
