We have so much freaking talent here! The best artists are on newgrounds. THE. BEST. I will fight anyone who says otherwise.

glad I decided to listen to this

You sound genuinely happy xin. I'm glad you were able to find what you were looking for.

As for the advice mentioned in the podcast, I realized far too late the importance of networking to success as an artist. Like many, I thought quality of work would be enough to make one stand out, and further your brand or career. I think socializing and networking is much more important than the quality of ones work. Its also a shame not everyone is built for socializing and networking. The take of prints over commissions is interesting, I think it depends on the content of what an artist usually goes for. For example, Sab and co typically produce likable, appealing art that has a wide range of potential fans, while not every artist has such proclivities or otherwise specializes to the point where what they create cannot easily be marketed.

This is one of the better episodes, the only way it couldve been improved in my opinion is with better organization of topic.

This was the exact motivation that I need to write something. JUST FUCKING DO IT.

Xinxinix responds:

DO IT FRO, I BELIEB IN YOU >:D

I will always and forever contain a list of reasons why not to use twitter, the stories told in this podcast just keep that list-a-growing. I absolutely want you to know that as someone who's yet to really begin an artistic journey and also has a desire to be far more Multimedia than just standard drawings and paintings and art, This, while I have my nitpicks with the format, is absolutely perfect for alleviating my stresses and providing a peek through the looking glass as to what the hell the industry even is, case-in-point, Nonstop drama for radically varied reasons... Never in a Hundred Harvest Moons would you convince me to get a twitter. I may still just be really overthinking things, young and dumb, stories yet untold...

I'll always be a ball of stress until I start producing full-time, but while I'm busy outlining my future persona, This is a wonderful litmus test as to what really is possible in this day and age.

I wanna meet that perfect fusion, Not a dull middle ground, but that wonderful place where reality and dreams are held within the pleasure-dome of having your honeydew and breaking your fast on it... I think I'm mixing my referential metaphor a little harder than I should be. (And drink the milk of paradise!)

Thanks, Xin, you got a regular for these podcasts, and maybe someday I'll end up on here. Someday.
