A short piece of music composed for the Newgrounds SNES Music Contest 2020, had a lot of fun writing this with the limitations of using era-correct samples, techniques, and sample sizes etc... a little bit of post-EQ, compression, and very slight limiting to bring the volume up a tad.

Thanks to John Montoya for putting together this great contest. I look forward to taking part in any future editions.

Cheers!

AMAZING SONG! One problem, I REALLY wanna use it for my Geometry Dash level, but its not allowed.

Some strong JRPG influences here. Very nice work; would definitely battle to save the world with my friends to this.

AlexanderJoshuaDavis responds:

Cheers mate! Shockingly the only JRPGs I've played are Final Fantasy VIII and IX on the PS1 (never owned a SNES), I think it's just that I'm into the same sort of music that those Japanese guys like Nobuo were into (70's and 80's Jazz-Fusion and Progressive Rock etc...).

Definitely need to bust out the emulator and revisit some of the classics.

Nice. Lovely ending as well

AlexanderJoshuaDavis responds:

Thanks a lot!

It's amazing how much final fantasy influenced modern day cinematic music

This is really great stuff. Good job!

AlexanderJoshuaDavis responds:

Thank you very much mate! I found it so much fun I've been writing one SNES style track for an imaginary game every day since haha.
