I did my best to capture the sound of a Neo-Geo, using classic synthesizers, Roland S-50 and Korg M1 (cards on the table, I don't know what the hell this thing used.) The thumbnail was inspired by the zombie power up in Metal Slug 3.

Beautiful composition work here! You really put these instruments to great use here. I especially loved that no particular instrument stayed the focus overlong so every point of the song feels fresh across multiple loops. And speaking of that loop, I loved the way that the loop ends with silence. It's a nice reprieve that serves as an end point well, but somehow still feels seamless when you loop into the start. I honestly don't know if that was intentional at all but I've rarely actually encountered a song that utilizes a clean ending to its loop like this. Off the top of my head there's Meridian Dance in Secret of Mana? And that did it in a completely different way.

Kudos

Strong respect for the instruments. It feels like I'm listening to composers from Nazca/SNK and Capcom having a jam session. Maybe if the two companies had collab'd a few years earlier, we'd have heard this kind of music in CVS1? It's a very fun loop, and I'm glad it's already showing up in animations on the site.

yo this sounds awesome!
