Hi again! I hope you’re fine and healthy.
FLSlayer was my first virtual e-guitar. I enjoyed a lot making songs with FLSlayer back then. Although the sound wasn’t good I still made songs because I wanted to use an e-guitar, I wanted to play one no matter what and I ended learning a lot since then. And so I started…
One of those songs was Tyrannic Nova Trident (TNT), composed in february 2017. I wanted to make a song special for a final boss fight. With that in mind I made the track and it became one of my favorite ones.
Years later, I found Shreddage 2, a very professional e-guitar for Kontakt. Its sound was amazing in comparison to FLSlayer so I decided to learn how to use it. I made a lot of songs with SHDD2 and I liked each and every one of them, but I started to dislike my old FLSlayer songs with the pass of the time, little by little... So I asked me: “How could my old songs sound if I remade them with my actual tools and knowledge?” . And this is the beautiful part when you can hear the before and after of your progress. I took “TNT” and remade it. Now I can hear my evolution and learn something important: Even if the tools back then wasn’t good as now the sequence prevails, and that was my impulse to “recover” my song. I liked my song because of the sequence and now I have the chance to take it to a higher level.
Now, about the song. Pianoteq for piano and SHDD 2 for e-guitar. Ezdrummer for the drums (I did some tricks to use it together with the SHDD2 heheh). The rest are default instruments from FLS11. I really, really wanted to add more sequence to the song but I lacked from ideas! So I ended making a very similar sequence to the original but richer. The result was totally of my liking. Maybe in 3 years I could remake this song and make it even better. It will be my revenge…

Oh yeah, significantly better than the original. I used FL Slayer a lot when I first started out, and it's fun to play with, but yeah it's not an ideal sound for sure lol. Your composing is pretty good. With Pianoteq, I'd recommend getting more dynamic with the note velocity to make it sound more natural. Good stuff.
