I had the idea to make this track after I found an old playlist from 2014 that I used to listen to a lot while playing video games. I got a huge nostalgia rush and wanted to write something similar to the songs in the playlist. I wrote the drop first. I was not sure what I wanted the theme to be for the rest of the song yet, but I knew I wanted that signature “og” dubstep sound from the earlier days of dubstep. After that, I believe I wrote the intro and buildup. After re-listening to the old tracks, I decided to go for something simple - just a melody on top of chords and a bass. I was happy with that, so I moved on to the post-drop. Originally, I was going to go straight back into the verse, but I decided that was boring. Long atmospheric parts in the middle of a song wasn’t something I’d really experimented with much, so I decided to go with that. I think it turned out rather well, though it could’ve been much better. With that, it was time to work on the second drop. The old school songs didn’t really seem to vary all that much between drops, so I decided to just stick with some basic rhythmic variation with the main bass. Overall, I’m satisfied with the result. I didn’t replicate the older style perfectly, but I enjoy the mix between that and my style quite a bit. It was very fun to work on.

Very good song, I love it. One of the heaviest dubstep I have ever heard. Just a question. Does it have copyright?

You may use the song in any non commercial way you like.

UPDATE:

I see you've created a description. It's quite detailed, and an interesting read. Nice! :)

With that in mind, I think It nails the popularized style well. It takes me back to the days when I'd play Call Of Duty online. It's nice to have that atmospheric break in the middle because without it, the piece is fatiguing to listen to.

Overall, I think you did a great job making an accurate homage to that era of Dubstep. :)

Original 4 Star Review:

"First off, This piece needs a description so I can see your thought process and judge the piece on how well I feel you expressed your message. Otherwise, I have to go by my personal taste.

Until the description gets updated, I will do that. I like the song. It's got a nice melodic quality to it. Not sure if it fits with the title, but it's a pretty fun and energetic listen.

Rager57 responds:

I’ve updated the description. Keep in mind that this track is several months old, so my memory of making the track is a bit less clear now.
