This piece is about the last farewell. It describes the moment you say goodbye for the last time and a wonderful time together finally comes to an end. The piece is characterised by grief, wistfulness, and melancholy, but also by power and joy. It is a memory back to the beautiful time spent together. Accordingly, towards the end, with great support of orchestra and choir, it becomes more and more epic. Another characteristic of this piece is the employment of a tin whistle and a glockenspiel, which are in the foreground from time to time. And the whole piece is written in D major.
