Hey, you're listening to the 1 9 9 X podcast, episode 25.
This is an EP that ranges from vaporwave to synthwave, all mixed together in the format of a mini dj-set.

Tracklisting:
00:00 The Beatles - Hey Bulldog (199x remix)
05:21 Yasonuri Mitsuda - Peaceful Days (199x remix)
13:20 1 9 9 X - Heavy Artillery
16:45 1 9 9 X - Que Masa

Hey, Bulldog:
Aren't you tired of listening to the same old bland Beatles remixes? Do you also think it's a good thing Lennon and George are dead so they don't get to see their legacy torn to pieces by a bunch of clueless producers that never even heard of the blue meanies? There is hope for humanity in this new millenia! And it comes in the form of a vaporwave remix of Hey, Bulldog, the classic piano rock theme from the 1968 film Yellow Submarine. Dive into the ocean of pads and float along the pitched down voices of Paul and John, now on 92kbps!

Peaceful Days:
SPOILER ALERT!!!11
The magic of the pendants awake Lavos and in an attempt to save the earth Chrono immolates himself resulting in the death of Chrono Trigger's main character. Few times are we left so disoriented by a tragedy like in this case, we go to Chrono's home only to find an alternative reality in which he never really existed. Just like that, blown off the map. You never even got a chance to unequip the items he was wearing! (dammit that Speed Ring was really useful) But even despite all this grimness there is still a shimmering light of hope, you haven't gone this far just to disband all of your party members and let Lavos take over, have you? No way jose. We'll get Chrono back and if we have to we'll fight Lavos ourselves!
So yeah, this is the feeling I wanted to impart on this uplifting trance remix.

Heavy Artillery:
Synthwave tunes are increasingly starting to resemble each other, resulting in the phenomenon known as "how come music sounds all the same nowadays?" well, it sounds all the same because very few dare to combine ingredients that don't normally mix in fear of being criticized. Does mixing genres result in musical aberrations? You bet it does. But there's always a chance of coming up with something fresh that was just dying to be created, like this melangerie of synthwave, trance and chiptunes. I'll let you, the reader, come up with a category for this.

Que Masa:
Que Masa = So Cool
so cool when I learnt how to rip 3D models of statues to make vaporwave videos.
so cool when I figured out how to use physics on blender to make an animation of a bunch of rubber balls falling down a ramp.
so cool when I put those things together and made a video for this song. <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngPkuSRtHW4&t=233s>
so cool when I sat down an afternoon to make vaporwave and came up with both lyrics and melody.
so cool when I remastered the audio so that it would sound great on even the cheapest sound system.
so cool that you took the time to read this.
so cool indeed.

Artwurk:
Thanks to Snordix for the fine concept art.
