By the end of the second third of the game project's storyline each of the villages, towns, cities etc in the first four areas/worlds (out of five) get destroyed by the big bad, pushing the party members to go through the bridge to the final area/world named Terminal where the big bad is.
Marcona Kingdom, Atsuria and Technica each have a unique "Destroyed" BGM based on their original BGM (or in Marcona Kingdom's case, its second), and are shorter due to the fact there are no monsters to fight until a point after having arrived back to Technica.
The Marcona Kingdom destroyed BGM is meant to sound dissonant and end abruptly as the player (and the party members) take in just how terribly wrong everything's going. The next ones for Atsuria and Technica aren't as jarring, promise.
