The big joke about solar energy was that it in no way was an enviromentally friendly construct, afterall its parts had to be replaced every year, counting that the materials required for its production were polluting agents to begin with.
Why did we even ever need energy in the first place other than powering our own dependancy, all we ever powered was the rejection of conditioning human resistance to the enviroment. How very enviromental.. Someone surely considered humans a plague by that logic.
Maybe he was right, as humans are great at genocide.. proven once again. Its funny how it always comes back to that... weren't we supposed to want for less and enjoy little things, give worth to fruitful labor and effort? Have a sense of self, appreciate gesture?
What moment in time did we actually decide to throw that all away and sit back to watch the decline?

Irony.. now all we required to survive was that very solar energy. Not to power our captors but to tilt them.. one proper sunflare aimed right at us would knock them all out.
No wonder one of the human collaborators once opted to build a failsafe base on mars, lets just say he didnt know any better from his bubble.

That failsafe was only accessible through the center of extraterrestial connectivity.. situated in Estonia, or rather hovering above it in the form of an airborne security station.
There was no way up there by any transport, but someone who still had some strenght in their body could scale the cables, they were textured with spools to prevent damage from lesser EMP's such as lightning.
If one could reach the station by effort, something most humans couldn't muster nor motivate themselves to.. somewhere inside there would be an unmanned glass saferoom defended by nothing but an alarm, a very responsive closing door and a sprinkler system that would when sprung cover anyone in that room with a mortal layer of errosive foam designed to melt anything with mechanical and augmented components.
That alarm detected only metals and plastics, so equipment was out of the question. Another panel to shut down that very security measure was in a remote station.. on the martian failsafe base. This way noone could ever access the panel that had to be opened with a keycard, joint by extraterrestial clearance.
Noone but Daklas, because he wasnt going there to access the panel but to sever the connection to the mars base by blowing up the whole goddamn station through short cirquit..then with mars cut off long enough there was time to disable all recievers, disconnect all the sattelites, ..mars would be sending packages to deaf man's ears..

This was only the beginning.
