*Warning* *warming* *Coruption!*
This track is great but flawed, I think the entire track is a certified BOP, but on account of being overly repetitive, and being in reality only 2:03 total, because of loops, along with this, the ending of the song is just a fadeout.
But enough being a lil whining baby, lets talk about why this track is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
The buildup to the first drop is amazing, and really feels ominous, the distorted sounds and complete lack of drums, along with a subtle static in the background make it panicked sounding.
The first drop is kind of... not as good as the rest of the parts, don't get me wrong, it's GREAT, but the rest of the song is just so much better, the drums and chords are easy to point to, and that's fair, but I think the star of the show is the bass, which shows the melody, but subtly, which ingrains into my head that the bass is going to become melody, which it DOES! Along with this, the bass acquires overdrive through the drop, making it a subtle intensity addition.
Now for the piano part, a break from the panic, this keeps the track from being exhausting, but still builds tension, but there's one part I'd like to highlight, the piano, specifically the pattern of notes it plays, the extremely quick rise and fall up and down the scale is very reminiscent of base terraria, in which this song is the soundtrack of a mod for, and whether intentional or not, it shows how Calamity diverges from terraria as the mod goes on, Hive Mind (The boss this track plays behind) being the first boss to really be different, but isn't to the extent later bosses are, it also is a bit soothing, yet builds GREAT tension.
Now for the flute, now, to explain why this part is amazing, I need to explain the context of the boss:
Hive Mind is encountered by attacking a small glob on the ground, which seems unemposing, and can't even attack, but after being killed, summons hivemind, for a first playthrough of the game finding hivemind is genuinely scary, and the start of the song is panicked, to show that, and a bit quiet, to allow the game to speak for itself, but by the drop the fear has started to reside partially, and now you're attempting to sightread a boss you've never fought, so it's an intense part, and loud, as the boss has already spoken visually, then it gets to a piano part, which is when (in my experience with watching new players play) is when they start getting comfortable with the boss, after the piano it becomes a triumphant flute, in a much happier tone, now, unfortunately, the sync to the gameplay ends at the flute, but it was good none the less, the flute is also NEVER used again the soundtrack majorly, making it a sort of staple of the boss, along with this the previously used in the first drop drums and overdrive bass + guitar are back, but because of the flute are now happier in nature, despite not much being changed about their sound.
Now for the VERY short break part, which although small, reminds the start of the song, having the same glitch effect, leading into a drum and guitar solo, although its more so a buildup in itself, to another flute part, which has similar use to the previous one, but is not in as happy a connotation, just neutral, this part also has my favorite instrument, it's barely audible, but it's some form of staccato string instrument, playing a few notes, that sound AMAZING, they don't even add that much to the song, they just sound so good, and I wish they were used in the next part, which is the outro to the first loop, a repetition of the first part of the song, after this outro, it leads to another loop, which is in my opinion a weak point of the song, I wish it was at least structured differently, maybe mix up the parts, but it's fine, this song still has so many upsides, the outro to both loops is also extremely weak, just a fade out of the drop, which i think is odd, wouldn't a fadeout in the predrop be better? anyway, my final rating of the song is: 9.5/10

Buildups and transitions: C-
Drums : S+
Theming : S
Use of extra instruments: A+
Motifs : A- (Could have used a calamity motif at some point, but I can't complain)
TOTAL: S
EDIT: The flute was used in Fly of Beelzebub too, but it's not the same motif and it's also on the opposite side of the game so I don't care.
