Immediately when the piano started playing I was taken to another world, one that is freezing, during the night, and covered in snow. That visual is very strong. Think Dr. Suess' "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" meets "The Snowman" from 1982 (The song "Walking In The Air").

As far as getting that "Winter" vibe, sonically you nailed it.

The only suggestion I have to make your submission more cohesive is what your piece's thumbnail artwork is. Right now, it's difficult to tell what it is, but it looks like your avatar. I think that's a missed opportunity for such a beautifully crafted and expressed piece of work.

Apart from that, though, I think you did a very nice job. :)

omg, i really want to hear this on a real piano

I really enjoy this song! It starts off slow and gentle, like its pondering the new year. Then it begins to expand in an almost triumphant manner. Yes, the music says, yes this will be my year! The music swells in your breast almost overwhelmingly before ending in still gently, but in a more upbeat and positive manner! Truly enjoyable!

There is too much ...out of order with this song. The volumes are all static to my ear, the plugin used may be decent.. but the composition is rather generic.. then again i used to make music like this too when i was 19 years old or something sitting in an empty house with just a tracker console. That brings me to the disbelief why a piece like this is rated in the best of the month.. Look, i understand this negative review will come as insulting, i would take it as an insult when someone said this about my work but i guarantee that in a few years youll agree with me. Work on the volume levels of seperate notes, try not to use the first progression that comes up in your mind.. that makes pieces sound bland.. everyone has heard it a million times before. I hope you take this as a well meant wake up call to become better than you are, we should never be satisfied. -Cal.
